The RETROGEN lab is committed to fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and empowering environment. Scientific excellence is greatly enriched by diversity and, as such, we recognize that inclusivity is vital for our science to benefit from the wealth of experiences that humanity has to offer. Moreover, we feel most comfortable in spaces where all lab members can participate freely and equitably.

To achieve this goal, we have an obligation to elevate voices that historically have been suppressed. We recognize that parts of academia have engaged and continue to engage in the systemic oppression of minority communities, and that to remain passive is to be complicit in these acts. We are dedicated to educating ourselves and challenging our own biases so that we may become better equipped to cultivate a welcoming space.
